Nursery Progress

Lately, my nesting instincts have been kicking in and I am just itching to complete our little lady's room!

We haven't gotten much done in here so far, mainly because we were waiting until after our baby shower. Now that it is over though, it is full steam ahead!

We have all of the main pieces of furniture already and in place. The crib was a gift from my parents. We decided on the Jenny Lind style of course because we are pretty traditional. 😉

For the changing table, we also decided to use an IKEA dresser that we have and just put a changing pad on top. This is mainly so that she can use it as a dresser when she is older. I would have loved to find a gorgeous antique pine dresser to go in there but it just didn't fit in the budget. Maybe one day. 😊

The biggest piece of furniture that we splurged on for this room though is the glider. We both decided early on that this would be the investment piece so that it can get us through multiple babies. My husband loves it so much that he has already claimed it for his man cave after all our future babies are older. 😂 We got the Pottery Barn Comfort Swivel Glider & Recliner in Basketweave Oatmeal and couldn't recommend it more.

So now it's mainly finishing touches for this room. I did this mock-up in photoshop this past weekend of how I'm wanting to style her crib and I'm pretty pleased with it. The main theme of her room is going to be florals with touches of bunnies. As for colors, I'm going with soft pinks, creams, and golds. Baskets are also a must for organizing all of her toys.

I didn't really use any inspiration pictures for this. Instead, I just picked elements that I love and it is slowly coming together in my mind. Hey, this will probably be one of the few times she will let me have total control of her room, so I'm enjoying it!

I can't wait to finish this space and I will make sure to keep you updated on the process!
